Profile

Dr. Vijaykumar Yelsani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Anurag University, located in Hyderabad-500088. With a strong academic background, Dr. Yelsani holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Osmania University, Hyderabad, where he conducted research on spray pyrolysed V2O5 thin films and their application in gas sensors. He also completed a Postdoc Fellowship at TECS, N C State University, Raleigh, NC, USA.

 

Dr. Yelsani’s research interests primarily focus on the synthesis of metal oxide nanomaterials and thin films using chemical and physical deposition techniques. He has extensive expertise in the field of semiconductor metal oxide thin films for TCO, gas sensors, and photocatalysis. Additionally, he has conducted research on anode and cathode materials for DSSC, QDSSC, perovskite solar cells, and Li-ion batteries.

 

In terms of teaching experience, Dr. Yelsani has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Physics at Anurag University since January 2021. Prior to that, he worked as an Assistant Professor of Physics at CMR Technical Campus, Hyderabad, from April 2015 to January 2021. He also has teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant during his Ph.D. and as an Assistant Professor at Noor College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad.

 

Dr. Yelsani has actively participated in various FDPs, workshops, and short-term courses to enhance his knowledge and skills. He has attended workshops on nano-scale characterization and analysis, data science, emerging trends in novel materials, and more. He has also completed online courses on topics such as data science and materials data sciences and informatics. His dedication to continuous learning and professional development is evident through his participation in these programs.

 

Throughout his career, Dr. Yelsani has achieved significant accomplishments and received honorary recognition. He has served as a guest editor for a special issue of Materials Today: Proceedings and co-convener for the International Conference on Materials Research and Applications. He has been an editorial board member for the International Journal of Materials Science and Applications and has been recognized as an outstanding reviewer by Applied surface science.

 

Dr. Yelsani’s research contributions extend to his involvement in various research projects. As a principal investigator, he has led projects focused on the development of WO3-based thin film sensors for medical diagnosis devices and 1-dimensional WO3-based gas sensors for non-invasive diabetes diagnosis devices. He has also been a co-principal investigator for projects related to co-doped ZnO thin films for toxic VOC detection.

 

In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Dr. Yelsani is an active member of professional organizations such as The Indian Science Congress Association, Magnetics Society of India, Optical Society of India, and Materials Research Society of India. He has 39 publications to his name.
